During the month of September, RONA New Liskeard will be collecting donations on behalf of the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation which will go towards purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) and COVID-19 expansion equipment for Temiskaming Hospital. The Temiskaming Hospital Foundation was selected as part of the Lowe’s Canada (parent company of RONA) Heroes campaign which supports local charities and organizations by collecting donations of $2, $5 or $10 at the check-out.
“We are so grateful that we were selected by our local RONA to be part of the Heroes campaign,” explained Temiskaming Hospital President & CEO/ Temiskaming Hospital Foundation Secretary Mike Baker. He continued, “RONA has supported our hospital during the pandemic with a donation for PPE, and through this campaign, RONA will help us collect additional funds to ensure we are adequately prepared for the potential second wave.”
Donations will be collected until September 30, 2020 with Lowe’s Canada matching 50 per cent of all customer donations up to a maximum of $2,000 per store. The goal set by RONA New Liskeard is $3,400.
Donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. Customers must keep their store receipt and call the Foundation Office at 705-647-1088 ext. 2030 to obtain their tax receipt.
The Temiskaming Hospital Foundation and Temiskaming Hospital would like to thank Doug Arbour, Store Manager, RONA New Liskeard, and his team for their continued support of Temiskaming Hospital.
“Our community members and local businesses have shown incredible support during this difficult time, and we want them all to know how grateful we are to have them supporting our hospital and our staff,” said Baker. “We want to remind everyone that every donation makes a difference and even more so with the matching program by Lowe’s Canada.”
