Temiskaming Hospital Foundation’s 7th Annual Radiothon Goes Virtual

The Temiskaming Hospital Foundation’s 7th Annual Radiothon will take place on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 from 9 am to 3 pm. This year’s event will be fully virtual with donations being made through an online portal. Live, on-air updates from the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors will take place on CJTT 104.5 FM. This year, the foundation is hoping to raise $35,000 for an Infant/Pediatric Ventilator to replace the current 13-year-old model in Temiskaming Hospital’s Emergency Department.

Due to the pandemic, the Radiothon, which normally takes place at CJTT headquarters, will look a little different. Usually donations are made via over-the-phone pledges with Radiothon volunteers stationed out of CJTT, but with CJTT being closed to the public, the foundation has decided to take things virtual instead. Listeners will be able to hear live, on-air updates on CJTT 104.5 FM at the 15, 30 and 45 minute mark of each hour and hear testimonials from Temiskaming Hospital staff, professional staff and patients throughout the day.

“We are so thankful for CJTT’s willingness and ability to adapt in order for us to hold this year’s Radiothon,” explained Temiskaming Hospital Foundation President Jim Rowe. He continued, “While the event will look different, the goal remains the same and that is to raise funds in order to purchase a critical piece of patient equipment needed for Temiskaming Hospital. We want to thank everyone for their continued support and remind you that every nickel, dime and cent truly makes a large impact on our fundraiser.”

The Radiothon’s event page is scheduled to go live Friday, April 16th, 2021. The event page features information about the Infant/Pediatric Ventilator, live donation tracker, testimonials and videos. To view the event page and to make a donation, community members can visit the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation’s website at www.temiskaminghospitalfoundation.org and click on the “7th Annual Radiothon” button found near the top of the page.

Those who do not have access to the internet but wish to donate are encouraged to send cash or a cheque ahead of April 22nd so the offline donations can be added to the live donation tracker during the Radiothon. Cash or a cheque can be mailed to the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation at 421 Shepherdson Road in New Liskeard. Donations over $25 will be eligible for a tax receipt.

“Our mission at Temiskaming Hospital is to provide quality, patient-centered health care to all,” said Temiskaming Hospital President & CEO and Temiskaming Hospital Foundation Secretary Mike Baker. “Through your donations, we can continue to ensure that the services are here for you and your loved ones when you need them the most. Truly Care Close to Home.”

The Temiskaming Hospital Foundation’s mission is to raise funds and manage donor gifts for the purpose of supporting outstanding clinical care for the communities served by Temiskaming Hospital.
